NYCB Ulbricht teaches BAA students

May 1, 2020 | Events

New York City Ballet principal dancer, Daniel Ulbricht taught a Zoom class for Ballet Arts Academy dancers on Thursday April 30th. Ballet Arts Academy students had the special honor of taking class from Mr. Ulbricht. Daniel greeted the students and got right into teaching them from his living room. Daniel gave wonderful, thoughtful corrections and used analogies the students could understand. At the end of class, Daniel encouraged them to keep taking their ballet classes during this Shelter-At-Home season. He told them their ballet classes were a time in the day when they did not have to do school work or chores…..it was their time to just dance.

The class was “something amazing, something unexpected, and an experience that I would do again,” stated Elizabeth Deborde an 11 year old BAA student. The kids left the meeting happy and inspired with fresh perspective on their current dance at home situations. Maddie Wilson, a 14 year old BAA student said it well, “Taking a class from Daniel certainly brought light and lifted all our spirits during these difficult times in life.”

From all of us at Ballet Arts Academy we extend a huge Thank you to Daniel Ulbricht for his instruction and encouragement.
